ST🚫P assuming the #AgenticAI #LLMs will adhere business rules because we told them so.
With the rise of agents' technology, which allows them to make decisions, act, and deal with information, we widen the range of actors.
All actors, including humans, #AgenticAI, #LLMs, and so on, MUST adhere to business rules. This is more important than before because our society now has a wider range of actors (#AI & humans).
💥Many may think #RAG can provide very specific information to the #LLMs and #agents so they follow the procedures. This is as true as if humans will always follow the rules because they have the information. #RAG is an information source, not the business rules.
What's the alternative?
Lucky us, there is already an open standard and vendor-natural notation and language that implements business decisions and business rules in an executable form.
✨The #businessrules should be packaged up as DMN and provided as the business rules source of truth to #agents, also be integrated into processes and systems. Therefore, #AgenticAI, similar to humans, will be enforced by business rules as they progress, act, and make decisions.
💣The open standard, vendor-natural, and executable models for decisions and business rules are called Decision Model and Notation DMN with Conformance Level 3 (CL3). Regulations, laws, policies, corporate strategies, and so on must be implemented in this standard so they can be shared across actors (humans and #AgenticAI agents) and become part of processes and applications for guard railing.
The benefit of using this standard and this approach is that we do not let actors (#AI #LLMs and Humans) interpret business rules from text, so they will not have the freedom to do so.
Also, business rules change and DMN approach and integration of business rules gives us flexibility you to update the rules independent of the data pipeline, training process and so on.
🚀Decision Model and Notation (DMN) provides the live specification that both humans and machines can understand and execute. Best of all, it is an open standard and vendor-natural format, so it provides the exact interoperability that humans and machines need today.
