💣 Making any process agentic requires more than traditional orchestration.

BPMN answers what's next step and activity to execute.

It is prescriptive and is built for humans.
⭕ Every path still has to be authored in advance as a fixed graph,
⭕ The decisions concept are external calls bolted onto it, not native to it.
⭕ Execution is leaner and predetermined by gates based on the hard condition.

An AI agent needs to reason its way to a next action, not hunt for a predrawn branch that matches its situation.

AI Agents plan, make decisions, and take actions.

If we are to prescribed every step it becomes a very expensive script like RPA!

Their orchestration should be
✔️ Event-driven
✔️ Durable and long-running
✔️ Adaptive to learn in real-time
✔️ Aware of upstream and downstream
✔️ Multi-actor for AI, Humans and Systems
✔️ Enabling them to have their agency as an agent
✔️ Govern, control and judge them based on the outcome quality

That's what Continuous Decision Model is for.
Then continuum of decision-making. When decisions aren't one-and-done.
An adaptive, connected and optimized in real time.
