⚠️ Next Best Action or NBA is not only about scoring, orchestration, rules, and data in real time.

NBA is the framework for running front-office operational decisions in CX, marketing, and 1:1 personalization.

Yes, you read it right. The 1:1 personalization decisions are still operational decisions running across functions. Marketing, Strategy, Operations, and Digital all need to be aligned to deliver real time decision across channels.

The old school of thought on NBA sees it as different from back-office operational decisions. ✨They are NOT incorrect. These types of decisions require more muscle than just rules and data inputs.

When operational decisions meet real-time customer-facing interactions, they take on a new color and flavor.

But this does not mean they are not operational decisions.

🟣 Back-office operational decisions:
* Ensure business runs correctly, safely, and within policy
* Impact on cost and risk exposure of operation

🟣 Front-office operational decisions:
* Make interactions relevant, engaging, and valuable for the individual in real time
* Have direct impact on LTV

Font-office decisions need Next Best Action (NBA) to deliver operational decisions at the intersection of operational rigor and customer experience.

They are different, but still operational decisions. Operational decisions without decision modeling are just orchestrating score, rules, and data in a fragile manner. No clarity, transparency and hardly an alignment as time goes on.

💥 Not relying on a decision model in NBA turns it into a technical project, not a decisioning project. It makes your team a vendor’s technology specialist instead of a decisioning specialist.

🚀 NBA without decision modeling is fragile and opaque. NBA with decision modeling is scalable, explainable, and trustworthy. It is decisioning at its finest.
