⚠️You cannot use the AI you know such as LLMs and ChatGPT for Decision-Making. Decision Intelligence is the AI for Decision-Making.
It's an interesting combination of AI techniques with other fields of science that enable enterprise organizations that operate in a dynamic and regulated environment to make and execute optimized, situation-aware, and customer-centric business decisions accurately and safely.
Decision Intelligence has literally two parts: the “Decision” and “Intelligence,” which are both different from what you probably know. So today, let's talk about the first part: the “DECISION.”
💡Decision refers to business decisions. The business decisions are very complex and different from many things you would already know and work with such as data machinelearning process etc.
🔸They are based on domain knowledge
🔸They are more dynamic than business processes
🔸They are more complex than a machine learning technique and algorithms
🔸They have different authority, relationships, hierarchy, structure, life-cycle, and dependencies
✨The question then becomes how do we model and specify them? Using decomposition technique. Select a business decision then:
🔹Understand the KPI the team (or function, group, department etc) cares about
🔹Breakdown the complex decision into smaller, more easy-to-understand subcomponents (decision units)
🔹Identify the dependencies between the decision units
🔹Determine the metrics for each decision unit
🔹Connect the units based on their dependencies
🥳Taaaaaa-daaaaaa! You have created a “Decision Graph” that is muti-step, hierarchical, and represents the holistic view of a business decision. This graphical model provides the basis for all stakeholders to understand, discuss, and agree on a complex domain of decision-making using a readable and visual diagram.
But hang on, there is more. How is it different from a diagram you create in Visio, Lucid Chart, etc.?
The “Dynamic Decision Graph” is not only a beautiful diagram for communication, clarity, and transparency but…
🚀It is the live specification of the decision-making scenario. It is an artifact you can deploy, execute, test, debug, and version. It is the module of reusability and interoperability for decision-making scenarios across processes, systems, and workflows in organizations.
