⛔Stop the “Decision Doodling” and start “Decision Modeling”.
“Decision Doodling” is a term create by a friend of mine and I use it explain how just using any free form of visual model is not enough when it comes to business decisions.
🚩Visual models are nice and catchy and feel artistic in the moment, but we don't create them for the sake of visual art and doodling.
Decision Model and Notation (DMN) standard not only enables you to conceptually define business decisions in a visual model but also enables organizations to specify accurate, easy-to-understand and *executable* business decisions.
💡Leveraging a full DMN Conformance Level 3 in DecisionIntelligence enables your organization to avoid “Decision Doodling” and rather practice an active “Decision Modeling” which are live specifications of business decisions.
Using Decision Model and Notation (DMN) in your organization for decision-making will:
1️⃣ Help stakeholders grasp complex decision-making domains through clear, easy-to-read diagrams.
2️⃣ Provide a solid foundation for discussions and agreements on the scope and nature of business decisions.
3️⃣ Reduce effort and mitigate risk in decision automation projects by decomposing requirements of complex business decisions.
4️⃣ Allow business rules to be clearly and reliably defined in straightforward decision tables.
5️⃣ Enable development of reusable decision-making libraries and components.
6️⃣ Simplify development business rules and decisions in IT systems and processes with specifications that can be automatically validated and executed.
7️⃣ Ensures successful integration of advanced analytics, machine learning and predictive analytics and AI models in decision-making scenarios.
