⛔STOP assuming outcomes are ONLY based on actions.

In fact, they are highly correlated with the decisions you make and execute. Outcomes are heavily influenced by the decisions that guide and shape those actions.

🚩In traditional problem-solving, outcomes are attributed to actions taken. This assumes that achieving a desired outcome depends on simply taking the right action, e.g., executing a step, implementing a procedure, etc.

“If we act, results will follow.” – this is a very naive assumption.

There are several problems with action-oriented thinking:
⭕Disconnection between action and objectives: The gap is not ai, data, rules or processes.
⭕Ignoring the causation: Why specific actions have been taken? Under what circumstances and with what parameters?
⭕Short-term focus: Overemphasis on quick wins rather than fostering innovation and critical thinking to understand and analyze the root cause.

The alternative?

✨The Decision-Centric Approach® emphasizes a very basic fundamental. Decisions influence and guide actions, which eventually shape the outcomes. Therefore, the key lever to controlling, managing, and improving the quality of the outcomes is the “decisions” themselves.

💡How does it help?
* Model the business decision by decomposing it into smaller decision units
* Determine the inputs for each decision unit
* Identify the leading indicators and metrics for each unit
* Establish the relationship between the units, required data, and business knowledge

The above steps create a Decision Model that's executable. In fact, this is the live specification of business decisions.

🚀 Now, you can focus on implementing the decision units using multiple technologies such as businessrules machinelearning llms and start orchestrating systems and data around the explicitly modeled business decisions.
