💥Business decisions are not your business processes, workflows, rules, or data.
Business decisions are, in fact, a different concept and entity in your organization. They drive everything in your organization based on various parameters and inputs.
✨Business decisions are the choices you make, the calculations you perform, the business rules you apply, and the selections and filters you look for, and they are all parts of your day-to-day workflow.
How can you identify them?
🔍Look for anything you do in relation the “why” and “what” rather than “how”. Ask “why” are you doing this and “what” are you trying to achieve rather than “how” are you going to do this.
When you answer “why” and “what,” then you lead to a specific type of model, which is the basis of the decision model driving the work you are trying to accomplish.
The decision model involves many other things along the way to create outcomes, such as #businessrules #data #process #machinelearning #optimization.
💣The decision model is a hierarchical and multi-step representation of the “why” and “what” of the things you do every day. Once this model is established, you can drill down into “how” and implement it using different techniques, such as
* Applying business rules
* Using a machine learning model to predict or classify
* Branching out in a process gateway to different tasks and assignments
… and more.
💡Focusing on “why” and “what” is the core foundation of modeling business decisions.
