🛑Do not confuse the Decision Model and Notation (DMN) standard with Decision Intelligence.

DMN is an open standard for defining business rules and decisions. Additionally, it standardizes how their decision logic is detailed and executed. This level of detail for modeling and executing business rules and decisions is the “Conformance Level 3” of the Decision Model and Notation and an essential level and crucial core for the Open Decision Intelligence Platform (DIP).

🔸DMN is not Decision Intelligence.
🔸DMN is not Open Decision Intelligence Platform.

💢DMN does not cover all other aspects of #DecisionIntelligence such as composite AI, #orchestration, integration, data processing, #machinelearning, #optimization, and so on.

However, DMN must become the core foundation of any Open Decision Intelligence Platform that enables teams across all platforms, tooling, development languages etc. model business decisions and specify the details of execution.

To get to this point, the Open Decision Intelligence Platform needs to be able to specify the 1️⃣ “Knowledge Core” of the organization. Then, after this layer, the 2️⃣ “Intelligence Core” can become based on the Decision Model and Notation by enabling teams to use a standard symbolic model to specify business decisions that are standardized, interoperable, fully explainable, and safe.

What's next?

The next level of intelligence on top of these cores:
🔹Expert Intelligence: With additional capability, the Open Decision Intelligence Platform can make optimized decisions and plan and interact with the world proactively rather than passively.
🔹Cognitive Intelligence: Enable the platform to add a layer of probabilistic reasoning on top of the deterministic layers by including different techniques of #machinelearning and genetics
🔹Autonomous Intelligence: Enables the platform to learn, evolve, and act with automated (and semi-automated) learning and feedback loops from the impacts of already-made decisions.

🚀#DecisionIntelligence platform is different from the Decision Model and Notation (DMN) standard, but nothing stops us from innovating and making sure the Intelligence Core is open, interoperable, and standard.
